It is so cold here. -5 this morning without the windchill. Brutally cold - and dark. On Monday's and Thursday's I have to be at Physical Therapy by 7:00AM - So I have to leave my house - on a good day of travel I need to leave my house by 6:30AM - that means I have to be up and awake by 5:30 - please. Only old people rise that early and then they get a nap in the afternoon.
We are already thinking about where we are going on vacation this year. The first year we went on "vacation" was 2005 - McCaiden was 6 months old and we spent a few days in Mackinaw City... it was fun. In 2006, we ventured to Whitefish Point. What a beautiful place that is. We had the best time, the trip home was less than fun (car issues and BAD weather, no gas stations with electricity, the middle of nowhere - you see the scary movie happening in real life here?), but the vacation itself was great and we can't wait to go back there. In 2007, we went to Leelanau Peninsula and stayed at a great stone cottage on a Century Farm. That by far has been our best vacation yet. The kids still ask to go back there all the time. Last year we went to my Aunt's cabin in Fife Lake. We had a blast walking the railroad tracks and feeding the fish. Very relaxing. This year we are thinking of changing it up a bit. We are thinking of going to Bear Cave in Buchanan - Esdin will love this and it sounds like fun and then from there head to Chicago for a trip the Shedd Aquarium...Both kids will LOVE this and I hope we will too!
So much we want to do this summer. McCaiden and I are bound and determined to make our garden grow this year. Last year we got green beans and carrots, but the squash never produced any vegetables. I assume its because we had no bees to pollinate the flowers, as our Orkin guy pretty much killed all insects and bugs in a hope to rid our yard of carpenter ants. So that is our mission this year - a good garden. Esdin can't wait to ride his bike again. Although I think he may be in need of a new one, he has grown so much in the past 6 months, he is up to my shoulders!
So not much point to this post, other than a dream of warmer weather activities and fun in the sun!

Brr. I feel your pain. It is 1 on my thermometer..It is SO COLD.
Take care of yourself--when it is very cold, it makes my ankle ache terribly--and it is healed and was broken in 2005--but the cold just aggravates the pain and I hope you're not hurting too badly.
I like the new earth tones here in your blog. Pretty :)
Thanks!
And yes the cold does make my ankle feel worse - I thought I was just imagining it!
Keep Warm!
